I have really enjoyed the holiday season thus far, and I wanted to take the time to share some of my favorite products of this month. For me, December means wearing a blend of festive holiday colors and neutrals. My favorites this month reflect a combination of reds, darker neutrals, and lots of sparkles. I have a variety of products on this list that I am very excited to share!

First on my list is the St. Tropez Self Tan Dark Bronzing Mousse. Personally, I prefer my skin tone when it is tan– not to say that fair skin isn’t beautiful, because all skin tones are– but I just enjoy having a little more pigmentation in my skin than I naturally do. I am not a fan of tanning beds because of their harmful UV rays. Especially in the winter months, when I am not outdoors as much, I turn to self tanners to get the color I want.
Now, I have had some not-so-great experiences with self tanners in the past (some made me look like a carrot), but because the St. Tropez formula is green-based instead of red-based, it doesn’t turn you orange. Instead, the St. Tropez Bronzing Mousse gives you a gorgeous, even olive toned tan that lasts for several days before you have to reapply. I have no complaints about this product other than that I wish the tan lasted longer between applications. In the future, I may do a separate product review on this because I love it that much. So if you need a reliable self tanner, St. Tropez is the way to go!

Next up is the Philosophy “Take A Deep Breath” Oil-Free Oxygen Moisturizer. My skin gets extremely dry in the winter months, so having a great moisturizer is a must. This Philosophy moisturizer is a little heavy, which I personally like because it nourishes my skin sufficiently. It has a pleasant scent, and the SPF 30 in this moisturizer helps to protect my skin from sun damage. You can use it under makeup or by itself to give your skin a healthy glow.

The Tarte Amazonian Clay 12-hour Full Coverage Foundation is my favorite foundation of all time. It comes in a variety of colors to match your skin tone, and it provides amazingly full, long wearing coverage without looking cakey. The coverage is also buildable, so you can choose how full you want it to be. I wear the shade Medium Honey. This foundation might be heavy for some, but I think it’s perfect for the winter months when I wear full-coverage makeup more often.

My best friend gifted me the Anastasia Beverly Hills Ultimate Glow Kit for Christmas. This palette is incredible! The shade “Snow” creates a beautiful brow bone highlight, and the rest of the colors in the palette are equally as gorgeous. I would use every single color in this kit, no doubt. Each shade is extremely pigmented, which is awesome; you can’t beat getting six unique, pigmented shades all in one palette! If you want a striking, shimmery highlight for your next holiday party, I highly recommend this Anastasia Glow Kit.

Urban Decay eyeshadows are my favorite. I love that they are always high quality and come in a variety of shades. I am a big fan of neutrals, so I want to share a couple of neutral eyeshadows that I’ve been loving recently.

First is the regular Urban Decay Eyeshadow in the color “Sin” (shown above on the left). I love this champagney color because it provides just enough of a luminous glow to brighten up your eyes while still being versatile and wearable. You can apply it to the inner corners of your eyes as a highlight, or you can apply it all over your lid like I do.

The Urban Decay “Moondust” eyeshadow in the color “Space Cowboy”  (shown above on the right) is another favorite of mine for this month. I’d recommend wearing an eyeshadow under this, because “Space Cowboy” is practically just glitter. However, it is absolutely gorgeous. I love wearing this shade when I’m going out because it brings sparkle and life to my look. If you strongly prefer mattes, you probably won’t like this one– but if you’re like me and love glitter, this is a wonderful shade for you.

I have been enjoying the Smashbox Be Legendary Cream Lipstick this month. I have tried many colors in this lipstick, and two of my favorites are the shade “Legendary,” which is a perfect red for the holidays, and “Primrose,” a soft, natural looking pink color. These lipsticks feel great on your lips– they are creamy, but not too creamy. They stay on decently well, but they aren’t super long wearing. My lips are very dry in the colder months, and these lipsticks help to keep my lips moisturized and nourished. Highly recommend this product as a reliable, everyday lipstick!

An amazing product that can be used with the lipsticks I just mentioned is the Smashbox Insta-Matte Lipstick Transformer. This is a product that you can apply on top of any lipstick to turn it matte. Isn’t that just the neatest thing ever? There are a lot of times when I prefer a matte lipstick to a sheer one, so this Lipstick Transformer is incredibly useful for me.

The Benefit Gimme Brow Volumizing Eyebrow Gel is a product that I have wanted to try for years, but just recently got around to it. I have to say, I was definitely missing out! As someone who has naturally sparse eyebrows, this product is such a lifesaver. It visibly thickens and darkens my eyebrows while still keeping them natural looking. It also helps to keep my eyebrows in place. After I apply this product, I usually use an eyeshadow that matches my brow color to fill in any gaps that the gel didn’t quite get. The result is precisely shaped eyebrows! I have now incorporated this brow gel into my everyday makeup routine.

The Nyx Matte Setting Spray is a lifesaver, honestly. It has been a favorite of mine for years, and it still works amazingly for me to this day. After I finish applying my makeup, I spray this product liberally onto my face to set everything. This setting spray keeps my foundation and eye makeup from moving, and it really is as long wearing as it claims to be. (Don’t worry, this setting spray comes off easily with makeup remover.) I would highly recommend this product to anyone who needs their makeup to stay all day. This is a drugstore dupe for the Urban Decay All Nighter Makeup Setting Spray, which retails at $31. Honestly, I think the Nyx spray works just as well as the Urban Decay one, so I continuously buy this Nyx Matte Setting Spray.

On to nail polish! I decided to share two of my favorite colors for this season. The first is the Butter London Trend Nail Lacquer in the shade “Chimney Sweep.” Like I mentioned before, I really enjoy neutrals, so I think this matte dark gray shade is beautiful. It is also a long wearing polish, especially when applied with a sturdy base and top coat.

The second color I wanted to share is the OPI Nail Lacquer in the shade “Dutch Tulips.” This festive pinky red shade is perfect for the holidays. OPI always comes out with the most gorgeous, sophisticated shades. I need them all.

The Batiste Dry Shampoo is a must-have for me this month. I have been trying to use less heat on my hair because it got really damaged this past summer in Australia. I have been using dry shampoo more often so I can go an extra day or two without washing my hair. The Batiste Dry Shampoo is the best dry shampoo I’ve tried, and it is really cheap too. My hair has looked and felt a lot healthier now that I’ve been taking better care of it.

I recently visited the Michael Kors outlet at the Tampa Premium Outlets in Tampa, FL. I have been needing a new wristlet for a while, and this Michael Kors one is cute, versatile, and very practical. It is large enough for me to fit my driver’s license, credit cards, cash, and even my phone inside of it, but small enough for me to carry in my hand. The wrist strap is incredibly useful for when I am going out somewhere and just want to take the essentials instead of carrying a larger bag. This wallet is leather, so it is more durable than a fabric one. The black color matches so many of my outfits. Perfection? I think so.

My final favorite item for this month is the book “365 Blog Topic Ideas: For The Lifestyle Blogger Who Has Nothing to Write About” by Dana Fox. This book is a great solution to bloggers’ block. It provides a plethora of ideas for any niche, so if you’re like me and occasionally need some extra inspiration, this book is perfect for you. It can also function as a neat addition to your coffee table. Click here to get this book for yourself.

That’s it for this month. Thanks so much for reading!
