As a busy blogger, full-time student, and public relations professional, my life can get chaotic. It can sometimes be hard to care for myself when I stay so busy. However, I realize that it’s extremely important to put my health and wellness above everything else. I’ve learned that there are plenty of ways that busy people can form healthy habits and prioritize themselves, even when life gets crazy.

Here are 10 healthy habits you can form today, even if you’re a busy bee like me!

  1. Nourish your body.

How are you supposed to function if you don’t provide your body with the nutrients it needs to stay healthy? Think about it this way: you will be far more productive and successful if you nourish your body. So, that means it’s important to eat healthy and drink plenty of water.

Today, I enjoyed a nutritious breakfast. I ate a Healthy Choice® Power Bowl and drank a glass of clean smartwater.

Every Healthy Choice® Power Bowl contains a unique blend of ingredients that provide a healthy balance of vegetables, proteins, and whole grains. The Chicken Sausage and Barley bowl is my favorite. I love that I knew exactly what I was putting in my body when I ate it.

Healthy Choice® Power Bowls fill me up and give me the energy I need to make it through my hectic weekdays. In Power Bowls, the chicken is antibiotic-free and the beef is all-natural. Power Bowls are made with the philosophy that “every ingredient matters,” and I really appreciate that.

I do not trust the tap water where I live. Based on recent tests, I know it’s filled with chemicals and pesticides that I DO NOT want to put into my body. That’s one of the reasons why I love smartwater. smartwater is modern. It is vapor-distilled, and it has just the right amount of electrolytes to provide a fresh taste. Not only does it taste great, but I know that it is 100% clean and healthy. It’s essential to make sure that you drink enough water, but it can be hard to do that when the tap water isn’t even clean. smartwater resolves that issue!

Both Healthy Choice® Power Bowls and smartwater are super convenient for busy people, too. I can take smartwater with me wherever I go. That way, I can ensure that I’m always hydrated. Healthy Choice® Power Bowls are perfect to take along with me to work, and they take under five minutes to make. Talk about easy!

I purchase my Healthy Choice® Power Bowls and smartwater at Walmart. Healthy Choice® Power Bowls can be found on the frozen dinners aisle, and smartwater can be found in the bottled water section.

By fueling your body with the nutrients it needs, you can increase your productivity, set yourself up for success, and be a happier person overall.

  2. Wake up at the same time every day.

We all know that it’s good to get our beauty sleep. But did you know that having a regular sleep schedule is also important? You should try to wake up at the same time every day so your body’s internal clock can get into a routine.

You will feel less tired if you wake up at the same time every day, and your body will function much more effectively.

  3. Make time for self-care.

Sometimes our lives get so chaotic that we forget to make time for ourselves. It’s crucial to take time for self-care because our mental health and overall happiness depend on it. Self-care could mean taking a bubble bath, eating a healthy meal, or doing some light shopping. You can choose how you want to take care of yourself. The important thing is that you make time for those self-care activities so you can thrive as a human being.

  4. Exercise to relieve stress.

When you’re stressed, it can seem easy to turn to unproductive or destructive stress-relief methods. Believe it or not, exercise can be a great stress reliever. Try channeling your negative stress into a productive activity, like exercise. You could go for a run, lift weights, or even just take a walk around your neighborhood. When you exercise, your body releases endorphins, which make you feel good. So, make time for a fun fitness activity!

  5. Spend time outdoors.

If you haven’t seen the sun in a week, then maybe it’s time to take a stroll through the park. By spending time outdoors, you can break away from your usual work environment. I love feeling the breeze and the warmth of the sun after I’ve been sitting at a cramped desk all day. Spend more time outdoors, and you’ll see a difference in your attitude!

  6. Take a stretch break every hour or two.

Speaking of cramped desks, I also want to mention that it’s super important to take little stretch breaks every once in a while, especially if you work at a job in which you’re idle most of the time. My work requires me to sit at a desk and be on my computer for hours on end. I always make sure to at least stand up and walk around every once in a while to keep the blood flowing. Don’t let your body get stiff! Stretch every couple of hours.

  7. Don’t be so hard on yourself.

As a perfectionist, I know all about self-criticism. Sometimes it’s a good thing if it helps you to improve. However, it can also become self-destructive. So, here’s my perfectionist advice: don’t be so hard on yourself. Allow yourself to fail. Forgive yourself for your mistakes, but still learn from them. No one is perfect! And it’s totally OK.

  8. Don’t procrastinate.

Nothing is worse than waiting until the last minute to do an important assignment or task, and then struggling to get it done in time. Save yourself the stress and complete tasks in advance. That way, you will be able to spend more time doing the things you enjoy.

  9. Keep yourself organized.

Have a physical agenda that you write in. Check it and write down new tasks in it every day. Busy people typically have a trillion different things going on at once, so keeping a planner or agenda is essential. I know that I would be completely lost without mine!

  10. Think positively.

A positive mind leads to a positive life. Always try to be a “glass half full” type of person. Look on the bright side of things, even when the going gets tough. We all have struggles in life, even the people who seem the happiest. It’s not that happy people don’t have struggles; it’s that they are able to get past them by thinking positively and believing in themselves.

Form these 10 healthy habits, and I guarantee that your life will seem less chaotic and more enjoyable.
